Google Livestreamed collaboration with Globital Australia a smash hit with local businesses

The Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club is a distinctive feature of Queensland’s Gold Coast. With its 180 degree view of the surrounding skyline and Elephant Rock, it’s a popular venue for holding events that are anything but average.

We couldn’t think of a better place to bring interested digital marketers and local businesses together on Wednesday, the 19th of October to hear about what Google capabilities Globital Australia has to offer – and the Google AdWords advertising platform. We partnered with Google to host this Google Connect Event as an official Google partner and conduit between Google and its clients. This allowed attendees to hear directly from Google in a livestreamed Chromecast setting while getting a uniquely Australian breakdown from those with experience.

We wanted the event to be more than just listening to us talk, which is why we heavily advertised on social media and generated PR in the Gold Coast Bulletin to make sure we could select a crowd that would benefit the most from mingling with other prospects and use the opportunity to generate leads, network and find valuable business connections. Registrations were snapped up almost instantly and it was an attentive crowd that greeted Globital Australia MD Damian Papworth on Wednesday morning for the actual event.

Because we wanted each agency to walk away feeling like they’d undoubtedly gotten value out of sharing their time with us we provided each guest with free branded Google goodies and food and drinks. We also had several local AdWords experts in attendance to answer any questions attendees had on AdWords as part of a business’s marketing and lead generation strategy.

The response received shows us that while Australian businesses are aware of and trust Google’s international brand offering, what they lack is a partner to guide them through its place in the Australian business economy. This is where we come to the fore, assisting Australian digital agencies in this role.

Due to the overwhelming response from those who attended as well as those who couldn’t make this date, we’ll be holding another information sharing event in the near future where businesses and marketers can learn from our insights.
