What Are The Steps?

Your digital agency can connect your clients’ YouTube channels and their Shopify Accounts in a few easy steps: 

The process starts on YouTube:

  1. Sign in to your client’s YouTube Studio
  2. From the left menu, select Monetization
  3. From here, click Shopping > Connect Store > Shopify
  4. Next, click Continue
  5. These steps will direct users to Shopify in order to complete the setup.
  6. When prompted, sign in to Shopify before selecting Add App, allowing you to add the Google channel

Next, head over to your client’s Shopify account:

  1. Click on Add Sales Channel at the top right-hand corner of the page
  2. Click on Connect Google Account before signing in to your client’s profile
  3. Follow the requirements as prompted on screen
  4. Add your client’s Google Merchant Center Account, creating one if they don’t have one already
  5. Agree to the Google Terms of Service before clicking Complete Setup

From here, all that’s left is to sync your client’s products with YouTube:

  1. After completing the Shopify steps, head back to YouTube and click Get Started
  2. Go through the channel requirements and ensure that your client’s channel meets them before clicking Continue
  3. From the drop-down menu, select your client’s channel before agreeing to YouTube Shopping’s Terms of Service and clicking Complete Setup

YouTube will review your client’s products to ensure they comply with Google’s Merchant Center’s policies which can take several business days to be approved. Once the approval process is completed, you will be able to select which of your client’s videos should show their products.
